Major General Ali Abdullah Bin Alwan, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, praised the efforts of the team, by virtue of which the Criminal Investigation Department managed within 3 hours to arrest an Asian after he stabbed two Asians and tried to leave the country via Ras Al Khaimah International Airport.

Bin Alwan also thanked a member of the society for informing the operations room about the incident and the Ras Al Khaimah International Airport officials for their co-operation and co-ordination with the General Directorate of Police Operations, which led to the arrest of the perpetrator before boarding the plane.

He affirmed that the Ras Al Khaimah Police will be on the lookout and will deal firmly with anyone who thinks of tampering with the security of the homeland and the safety of citizens and residents.

According to Brigadier Ahmed Saeed Al Mansoori, Director of Criminal Investigation Department, the case dated back to a report that was received by the operations room stating that there was an attempt to kill an Asian behind a store in the emirate.

A team from the department, accompanied by experts from the competent authorities, rushed to the place with the knowledge of the public prosecution and took the victim to the hospital through the national ambulance.

Meanwhile, another report was received that there was another attempt to kill another Asian in the same area. The team moved to the place of the report and transferred the injured to the hospital.

Despite the tight time and the difficulty of obtaining enough information from the injured because of their serious injuries, the inferences made by the team led them to suspect an Asian who was about to leave the country.

After co-ordinating with the airport’s operations room, the suspect was arrested before boarding the plane with stains of blood on his clothes. The suspect admitted to having attempted to kill two Asians and led the team to the location of the tool he used.

The suspect explained that one of the victims had borrowed a sum of money from him but did not returned the amount. Accordingly, he booked an airway ticket before he carried out his plan, he said, adding that three hours before the travel time, he planned to kill the victim and his partner and leave for his homeland. More legal measures are underway.
