PCR test costs Dhs65, urgent or normal in Abu Dhabi; DoH warns violators

The Department of Health- Abu Dhabi, the regulative body of the Healthcare Sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has called on all health facilities licenced by it to adhere to the fixed price of the nasal swab for a COVID-19 PCR test, which is Dhs65, whether urgent or normal.

The service includes taking and examining the sample and issuing a report with the result, according to the Circular No. (108) of 2021.

The DoH indicated that any facility which fails to comply with the fixed price would be closed and fined in accordance with the regulations in force in the emirate.

It also explained that individuals who do not suffer from any symptoms or medical indications must pay for the PCR test, while in other cases, the cost is covered through the programmes provided by the government.

The DoH had recently fined a facility that failed to comply with the fixed price specified for the COVID-19 PCR test.

It called on the community members to contact it via 024193845 or by e-mail: Healthsystemfinancing@doh.gov.ae to report any violations in this regard.
