Several parts of the country witnessed rain of varying degrees of intensity on Saturday afternoon, ranging from light to medium and sometimes heavy, due to an extension of a surface low-pressure system.

This was accompanied by an extension of an upper air low pressure, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Moderate rain started at 1:30pm on Dara and Shaoka, while heavy rain lashed Wadi Al Ajili in Ras Al Khaimah, and Rafar in Fujairah.

Al-Bathna — Masafi Road, Wadi Shees, Al Rafisah Dam and Maliha Kalba Road in Sharjah experienced also moderate rain.

Jebel Jais in RAK recorded the lowest temperature, 24.9°C on Saturday at 6:30am.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) appealed to motorists to take caution while driving during the rain, and with the lack of horizontal visibility, due to rain and dust-stirring winds.

NCM advised to stay away from places of water gathering and the flow of valleys.

Sunday weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy, dusty at times during the day, NCM indicated.

Clouds are expected to form in the east, in the afternoon.

Weather will be humid at night and Monday morning over some coastal areas, according to NCM.

Winds are expected to be southwesterly, turning to be northwesterly and northeasterly, light to moderate, active sometimes, at a speed ranging between 15 to 25 up to 40 kilometres/h.

The sea is expected to be light in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.

Monday's weather, according to the centre, will be generally clear, hot and dusty at times during the day and partly cloudy in the west, with low clouds formed on the eastern coast in the morning.
