Linda Brown, a Missouri real estate broker, and her husband David organised for nine years a nightly shelter for the homeless, to eat, bath, wash clothes, use computer and socialise.

Later, they turned an abandoned mobile home into permanent housing for the homeless with chronic problems.

The couple raised $4.75 million and opened an entire village in 2018, and opened a building of 31 tiny homes where people including drug users live now after living on the streets for two years.

"In the worst moments in my life, Linda made me feel like I was still alive," Fisher said.

Fisher worked full time with Brown, building and maintaining 31 new houses and helping others who have had his bad circumstances.

Linda told the National Association of Realtors, that honoured her with the Good Neighbor 2020 award: “I watched my homeless friends walking in the dark to a place away, in cold weather while I went home to my warm bed, and I felt I should do something for them.”
