India adds over 39,000 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours

India reported on Saturday 39,097 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, while daily deaths rose by 546, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data showed.

The Health Ministry data showed that the country's tally of infections now stands at 31.26 million, with the death toll at 418,987.

The country now has 408,977 active cases and has witnessed a total of 4,20,016 deaths so far, according to the government

A total of 35,087 people were discharged from hospitals and health centres in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cured to 30,503,166 till date as the virus continued to infect less than 100,000 people over the last 45 days.

According to the health ministry data, a total of 427,882,261 COVID vaccine doses have been administered in India, including 4,267,799 in the last 24 hours.

The total number of samples tested so far has reached 454,570,811 as on July 23, including 1,631,266 samples tested on Friday.
