UAE’s Al Ain city received heavy rain on Eid day, bringing much delight to the residents where the temperature was high during morning prayer.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said that it has carried out 126 cloud seeding flights, since the beginning of 2021, including 14 flights since last Tuesday, at a rate of two to three hours for each one on most of the country's regions.

The UAE weather body said Al Ain’s  Zakher, Malaqit, Jabal Hafeet, Khatam Al Shiklah, and Mazyad saw heavy downpour.

It also said Al Dhafra Region’s Hameem and Liwa received light rain.

Light rain was experienced over Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah.

The experts said that the highest temperature recorded over the country was at 46.1°C in Hamim, Al Dhafrah Area at 14:15 UAE local time.

On the other hand, Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to drive safely during unstable weather.

Motorists have been urged to reduce speed limit to 80km/h, maintain safe distance, monitor weather forecasts and follow the precautionary instructions.

Motorists have also been urged to follow the speed limit posted on the emirate's roads during the foggy, dusty or rainy weather.

The maximum speed limit during such conditions will be displayed on the electronic signs and the smart towers installed on the roads, or as shown by text messages.
