India reported on Monday 38,164 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.
Data from health ministry showed the deaths rising by 499, lowest in over three months. On April 5, India reported 446 deaths.
A total of 38,660 people were discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total discharge to 30,308,456 till date from hospitals and health centres as the virus infected less than 100,000 people in the last 41 days, according to the Union Health Ministry.

The country has 421,665 active cases presently and has witnessed a total of 414,108 deaths so far.
The total number of samples tested so far has reached 445,422,256 including 1,463,593 samples tested on Sunday.
A total of 406,481,493 COVID vaccine doses were administered in India, including 1,363,123 in the last 24 hours, according to the health ministry.
Thursday is the 30th consecutive day when India reported less than 100,000 new coronavirus cases. The active cases have now come down below 500,000.
On June 30, India recorded 817 fatalities due to the coronavirus, lowest since April 10, according to data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Thursday. The death figures have crossed 1,000 mark once again after three days.
India's coronavirus case load topped 7 million on Sunday and the country has added a million cases in just 13 days. It has the second-highest number of infections, behind the United States which is approaching the 8 million mark.
