On two separate drug-trafficking busts, the Dubai Public Prosecution has referred three defendants, two men and a woman, to criminal court for the use and possession of crystal meth and Lyrica drugs in Dubai.

The first case dates back to last February, involving an Arab male and female defendants who were in possession of Lyrica drug pills.

Anti-narcotics police received credible information about the male defendant’s drug activities, and a team was immediately formed to investigate and place the drug-traffickers under arrest.

Police headed to the defendant’s residence and searched the apartment. They found several types of psychotropic pills including Lyrica and crystal meth.

However, the female accomplice was also present in the company of the defendant, and police suspected she was under the influence of drugs.

They both confessed to using the pills and the male defendant claimed that he gets his drug supply from another accomplice for various amounts of money.

Meanwhile, he also provided the drugs for the female defendant for free.

They were both detained, and police teams headed to their supplier’s residence to arrest him.

They searched his place and found a bag of crystal meth and money from the drug selling.

They also found a sensitive scale that is used to weigh the drugs, and several plastic bags containing psychotropic pills and hashish.

They were arrested and prosecuted on drug-trafficking charges, with a harsh punishment and jail-term awaiting for each of them.

On the other hand, a 32-year-old Asian man is also facing trial for possession and facilitation of crystal meth to his female friend in Dubai.

The accused and his accomplice were placed under arrest during last May, after police received a tip-off about his possession of psychotropic pills.

Police invaded his house and found no drugs, but both the defendant and his female friend were under acting different and seemed to be under the influence.

They both had to undergo a drug test, which came out with positive results.
