Abu Dhabi to start sanitisation programme from midnight to 5am starting July 19, restrict movement of residents

The Abu Dhabi government has announced that the Emergency, Crisis and Disasters teams in the national capital will launch the disinfection programme from Monday, July 19.

The disinfection programme is part of the emirate’s efforts to protect members of the public and prevent the spread of coronavirus in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

The authorities have announced that the disinfection programme will take place between 12am and 5am. It will be done on a daily basis.

Residents who have work in these hours must apply for a movement permit from the Abu Dhabi Police.

The authorities said that during these crucial hours, all traffic and public activities would be restricted.

The transportation authorities said that all transportation services would be unavailable in all parts of the emirate.

The emergency teams have urged members of the public to avoid public places and that everyone must stay indoors.

The only exception is for those people with medical emergency who are allowed to go out, or when there is an absolute need to get essential supplies, such as food and medicine.
