A Melbourne pub is offering free alcohol to those who opt for a vaccine shot.

The move was barred by the nation’s drug regulator which, however, relented after Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison stepped in.

He said the initiative by Prince Alfred Hotel to offer complimentary beer for those inoculated against the virus was a ‘good-hearted’ move and in the ‘national interest.’

He called the Therapeutic Drugs Administration’s rejection as ‘heavy-handed’.
 
He said his government would be making some changes to make sure that people may make use of such good-natured initiatives of their own accord.
 
Beer among other things is also being offered in America to those who want to get vaccinated.
