UAE says studies on vaccines’ effectiveness on COVID-19 variants ongoing

The health authorities in the UAE said on Tuesday that the COVID-19 vaccines are still considered new and scientific studies on its effectiveness and impact are ongoing.

“It is recommended that the eligible individuals take the vaccines after consulting a specialised doctor as to protect themselves and support the national effort in combating the pandemic,” authorities said during weekly briefing on virus situation in the UAE.

Authorities confirmed that the process of developing and changing vaccines and medicines is ongoing, in order to get the best vaccine to combat the genetic variation of the COVID-19 virus.

“As the UAE health sector follows the best ways to protect society, it is critical to provide vaccines to control the pandemic, including the booster shot, given after the main doses to stimulate immunity,” said official.

“The UAE has established an advanced and comprehensive health system for detecting and treating COVID-19 cases across the UAE,” said authorities.

“Specialised hospitals open their doors to work as additional medical ready facilities equipped to deal with cases as per the highest international standards,” official concluded.
