The Dubai Public Prosecution has referred two drug-traffickers, an Asian and a Arab, for drug possession in two separate cases.

In the first case, the 51-year-old Asian was visiting UAE when he was caught attempting to smuggle heroin into Dubai Airport.

Last April, a female customs officer suspected the contents of the defendant’s bags, and asked him to undergo a bag and body search.

During the search the officer found 28 plastic rolls filled with heroin, weighing 3.7kg, hidden inside the bags’ handles.

When asked about the drugs, the defendant claimed to have received the two bags from a person back in his home country.

He admitted to knowing that it contained drugs but not about its type.

He said that it was supposed to be delivered to a man inside the country.

In another case, an Arab worker was arrested and prosecuted for possessing and facilitating hashish to his friend in Dubai.

The defendant’s friend was first caught by anti-narcotics teams while in possession of hashish.

When defendant’s friend asked about the source where he gets the drugs from, he revealed that it was from the Arab worker.

The defendant was tracked and arrested, and they both had to undergo a drug test which resulted to be positive.
