Abu Dhabi issues fresh travel guidelines for Emiratis residents coming from abroad

The Abu Dhabi emergency and crisis team issued new travel measures for Emiratis and residents arriving in the emirate from abroad effective from July 5.

The authorities said Abu Dhabi residents travelling back to the emirate from the destination under green list have to take a PCR test at the airport.

They would have to take another test on day 6 from the date of arrival, and that there is no quarantine requirement for these people.   

Vaccinated travelers arriving from countries, which Abu Dhabi has deemed safe from COVID, will just have to take a PCR test at the airport without the need to quarantine. A second PCR test on day 6.

The team also said that those arriving from destinations not included in the green list must have a PCR test on arrival and quarantine themselves for seven days.

A PCR test is also must on day 6.UAE residents who have completed their second vaccine dose 28 days earlier must comply with these regulations. Residents must update their documents and evidence in the Al Hosn app before traveling.

Abu Dhabi said that unvaccinated people arriving from green list nations must undergo a PCR test on arrival without the need to quarantine.

People arriving from countries not mentioned in the green list will be in a quarantined period of 12 days in Abu Dhabi.

They would take the PCR test at the airport, then on the 11th day from the date of arrival.

The authorities said anyone who is found to have not abided by these travel protocols would face tough penalties.
