Fish sales in the “Tazj - Fish Market” via smart devices, which was created by an Emirati totaled around Dhs1.565 million since its launch on Dec.31, 2018 until last Saturday.

Online sales were estimated at Dhs220,000 in the last quarter of last year and at Dhs305,000 during the first quarter of the current year 2021, up by 27.9 per cent.

The UAE “Tazj” app on smart devices concluded a special agreement with Mohammed Humaid Al Ali, the only Emirati working on a “fish display table” in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) and the owner of the initiative, which was recently widely acclaimed by the community and received special support from the fishermen’s associations and workers in the fishing sector.

The agreement stipulates that the fish available on the fish display table of the only Emirati fish seller will be displayed in the fish market of Muaireedh area in Ras Al Khaimah within the electronic app. The Emirati fish seller provides fish delivery service to all houses across the UAE.

Providing the service of selling fish and fresh products electronically contributes to strengthening the system of electronic and smart services and developing the system of services provided to consumers, Musa Al Shehi, Tazj app founder, said.

He pointed out that he was inspired by the UAE policy and vision and the directives of the wise leadership for stimulating smart services, noting that the agreement supports the only Emirati fish seller in Ras Al Khaimah markets as part of the commitment to social responsibility and support for popular and national initiatives.

Al Shehi stated that the agreement opens the door for the Emirati initiative owner to expand the scope of selling his products nationwide by displaying them on the Tazj – Fish Market and then providing delivery services across the UAE. This contributes effectively to preserving the profession of ancestors by strengthening the presence of Emiratis in all the fields of this profession.

The “Tazj app,” which runs the “Tazj - Fish Market,” honoured the Emirati owner of the fish display table in the fish market of the Muaireedh area in the presence of Khalifa Al Muhairi, Chairman of RAK Fishermen Co-operative Society.

Al Ali said he would make offers to UAE citizens and residents while ensuring the provision of fresh fish as well as cleaning and cutting services, adding that he would buy the fish from Emirati fishermen in Ras Al Khaimah or other emirates and would meet the market need in all seasons.

Al Muhairi affirmed that the Fishermen Association provides all the desired facilities to the local fishermen in the emirate with the aim of helping them face challenges and continue in the profession, which represents a lot to all Emiratis.
