Kuwait records the world’s highest temperatures exceeding 53.2°C during last 24 hours, prompting weather authorities to issue alert for residents to take proper care of hydration periodically.
An international website that monitors temperatures around the world has ranked 13 Arab cities among the hottest spots in the world during the last 24 hours, with temperatures exceeding 53.2ºC.
The website said, “An Arab city records the highest temperature in the world, along with other 10 cities from the Arab world.”
The “Eldoradoweather” published a list of the highest temperatures in the world during the last 24 hours, as the seven highest were recorded in 7 Arab cities, and the list came as follows:

The temperature in the Gulf region is usually hits 50°C in summers.
In 2017, a tweet went viral showing a truck sinking as asphalt melts in Kuwait. The temperature was reported the highest on that day.
The high temperatures forced authorities to close coronavirus vaccination centres and schools in both the countries. The authorities also opened many cooling centres. People have been advised to stay in cool places as much as possible and drink plenty of water even if they do not feel thirsty.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said the highest temperature on Tuesday was 50.7°C at 12:15 in Bida Dafas in Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi, while the lowest temperature, 24.6°C was recorded in Jebel Dhanna in the Al Dhafra region at 5am.
While Basra is used to scorching summers, this year it has started sooner than expected, bringing misery to residents in a city also plagued by chronic electricity shortages.
