A prominent Egyptian Quran reciter passed away recently.

The people of Talkha city, Dakahlia governorate mourned Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Halim Arafat, 37, one of the most famous reciters of the Holy Quran, and an imam and preacher at the Ministry of Endowments.



Ever since his death, Egyptians have been sharing videos of his recitations.

Residents of the Talkha city prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

Abdul Halim was suffering from a disease that afflicted him in his last years, but he died due to the infection with COVID-19.

Sources close to Abdul Halim said that he was suffering from kidney failure, but his illness did not prevent him from reciting the Holy Quran, until he was recently infected with the COVID-19, which developed lung fibrosis and died due to its complications.

He was contributing to supporting university students and marriage of orphan girls, so his funeral was solemn in Talkha.
