The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said the UAE is to witness on Monday, June 21, the sun’s ostensible orthogonality to the Tropic of Cancer, so that the country will witness the longest day of the year, when temperatures increase in most regions, marking the start of the summer season 2021. According to the NCM, rains lashed different areas on Saturday due to a shallow air depression accompanied by an air depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

Light rain fell at 4:30pm on the city of Al Ain, and Umm Ghafa.

On Saturday morning, Jabal Al Haban in Fujairah recorded the lowest temperature, 21.9°C at 3:45 am.

The highest temperature was recorded in Al Dhaid in Sharjah, 47.8°C at 2:15 pm.

The centre appealed to motorists to take caution while driving during rain and with the lack of horizontal visibility due to rain and dust-stirring winds.

The NCM also advised residents to stay away from areas with pools of water and flooded valleys.

The weather on Sunday is expected to be generally clear and dusty at times, with the formation of low clouds on the eastern coast in the morning.

It is expected to be partly cloudy in the east, in the afternoon and humid on Sunday night and Monday morning over some coastal and inland areas, especially in the west.

Winds, according to the centre, will be southeasterly to northeasterly and northwesterly, light to moderate, active at times, blowing at a speed ranging from 15 to 25 up to 40 km/h over the sea.

The sea is expected to be light to moderate, turbulent at times during the night in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
