UAE residents urged to be cautious as COVID-19 cases increased after Eid Al Fitr

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention said that in the past few weeks COVID-19 infections have increased in the country, prompting authorities to take stringent measures to curb the spread.
Dr. Farida Al Hosani, Official Spokesperson of the UAE Health Sector and Director of the Communicable Diseases Department of the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC), said, “An increase in infection was observed in the country, especially after the Eid Al Fitr holidays, which was caused by several reasons, one of which was the failure to adhere to the precautionary measures and the large number of gatherings.
“Therefore, we call upon the public to adhere to preventive measures during the approaching Eid Al Adha holidays and summer vacations.”
Farida said, “We call on everyone to adhere to precautionary and preventive measures, such as social distancing and permanent wearing of protective masks, even after the vaccination until life returns to normal.”
The authorities are urging members of the residents to get vaccinated to protect themselves, their families and the society.
The authorities said that the UAE Covid-19 vaccine centres are fully equipped with specialized and well-trained health cadres and medical equipment and supplies to welcome all to get the vaccine, as well as those who received their second dose of Sinopharm vaccine at least six months ago to get the booster dose.
This falls within the UAE's strenuous efforts to enhance the protection of community members from getting infected with coronavirus and maintain their health and safety.
