Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan met Qaiser Shakeel, an injured Islamabad Traffic police warden, and appreciated him for performing his duties with honesty despite being injured. The prime minister lauded his act of responsibility by inviting him to the Prime Minister House (PMO).

Shakeel’s arm was fractured in the collision. This type of injury usually takes weeks to recover but the high-spirited police official returned to duty after just two days of medical attention.

In a tweet on Monday, the PMO said Imran called Shakeel to Prime Minister House where he praised and encouraged him for "performing his duty well despite being injured."

The prime minister said that the entire image of police is lifted by the effort of just one man because of such an incident. "I called you especially here to appreciate your effort and we will reward you for it as well."

"Qaiser Shakeel's conscientiousness is an example for other government officials," the prime minister said. Imran said his dutiful gesture had drawn wide public appreciation and “such acts always raise image of police.”

Shakeel said that Imran Khan was performing his duties to serve people with high spirits and he wanted to replicate it.

Earlier, a video clip of injured police warden performing his duties on hot summer day by marshalling traffic in Islamabad on weekends went viral on popular social media platforms.
