His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai affirmed that opportunities will only be well seized by those who are waiting for them.

Sheikh Mohammed posted a video on Instagram, with the hashtag #FlashesofLeadership, and shared some of his practical life experiences and leadership vision.

“If you challenge a goal you will be able to achieve it. Imagine that you are riding a horse, if the horse is one step faster than what you want, you will not reach your goal and your horse will get tired. However, if the hose is one step slower, you will not win. You and your horse must be accurate. You must know your horse’s capabilities.

One must take advantage of available opportunities and opportunities will only be well seized by those who are waiting for them. If you challenge a goal you will be able to achieve it,” Sheikh Mohammed said.

Sheikh Mohammed previously said about the achievement of Burj Khalifa.

“When I was briefed on the plan of the project, which consisted of 80 floors in an area with small buildings of three or four floors, I told my team that this project does not embody my dreams, it is not the project we plan and want to implement.

“I pointed it out that I wanted to set up the largest man-made building in this place, including gardens, water, accommodation, and excellent markets.”

Sheikh Mohammed added: "Burj Khalifa is not just a tower, but a new city in the heart of the city, and when we completed the building, it was the tallest man-made building on earth.

“We decided that it must be linked to the name of one of the greatest people, so it was called ‘Burj Khalifa.’”

Sheikh Mohammed launched the hashtag #FlashesofLeadership on his Instagram account last January, to share part of his life and work experiences and leadership vision with the public.
