17-year-old Arab girl falls to death from 39th floor in Sharjah

The Sharjah Police General Directorate is investigating the death of an Arab girl, who fell off a residential tower in Al Khan area of Sharjah on Thursday evening.

The Operations Room of the Sharjah Police General Directorate received a tip-off at 9:15pm on Thursday, alerting that a 17-year-old Arab girl fell from the 39th floor of a residential tower in the Al Khan area.

Instantly on receiving the report, police patrols, national ambulances and the forensic team rushed to the scene.

The teenager was a Grade 11 student at an American school in the emirate.

Preliminary investigation revealed the girl was on the balcony of the house.

She climbed on a chair but could not maintain the balance and fell off it.

The girl fell in the middle of the restaurant area on the ground floor of the tower and died on the spot.

The body was taken to Kuwait Hospital, and the incident file was transferred to the Buhairah Comprehensive Police Station, to find out the causes and circumstances of the incident.

The police completed the legal procedures to hand over the body and extract the death certificate.
