UAE reports 1,452 new virus cases, 3 deaths; administers 23,115 doses of vaccine

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has conducted 186,370 additional COVID-19 tests which helped it to detected 1,452 new coronavirus cases.

The new cases bring the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 543,610.

The infected individuals belong to different nationalities and are in a stable condition after receiving the necessary care, Ministry said in a statement.

The total number of deaths in the country rose to 1,626 on Friday after MoHAP  announced 3 more deaths due to COVID-19 complications.

According to the Ministry statement an additional 1,422 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19.

The new recoveries bring the the total number of recoveries to 523,778.

Meanwhile, the Ministry also announced that 23,115 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were given in the past 24 hours.

The total number of doses provided up to Friday stands at 11,445,680 with a rate of vaccine distribution of 115.73 doses per 100 people.

In a statement, the Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment.

The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished COVID-19 patients a speedy and full recovery.

The Ministry has urged all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.
