VIDEO: Irish president's dog tries to interrupt interview

Irish President Michael D. Higgins has been trending on social media all thanks to his attention-seeking dog.

Misneach, the dog of Irish president, pawed at his owner vying for attention during an interview, a TikTok video showed.

Higgins maintained his composure and spoke to the camera, the six-month-old Bernese mountain dog was up to mischief.

The dog could be seen nibbling on his finger and coat continuously for a good 30 seconds.

Misneach, meaning courage in Irish, is one of two dogs the president owns.

Higgins spoke on the death of Irish actor Tom Hickey during the interview and paid tribute to the late actor.
