Some regions of the country on Wednesday witnessed rain of different intensity, because of the state being affected by a surface atmospheric depression accompanied by an air depression in the upper atmosphere leading to instability in weather, the National Centre of Meteorology said.
Light rain began at 2:30 pm on Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road towards Ras Al Khaimah, on Al Hamra Island, and on Teiba and Al Khalebiya in Fujairah, the NCM added.
The NCM appealed to individuals to take precautions while driving during rainfall or if visibility was poor due to dusty winds. It also advised the public to stay away from places where there are surface runoffs.
The NCM also indicated that the weather on Thursday and Friday is expected to be fair in general, clouds tower over the eastern areas may be convective by afternoon.
Humid by night and Friday morning over some coastal areas with a probability of mist formation.
Light to moderate northeasterly to northwesterly winds, freshening at times during daytime, with a speed of 15–25 reaching 35km/hr. The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
