His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, said on Thursday, in the Direct Line conversation, “We have studied the issue of allocating dialysis services to elderly people at home in details, and one of the solutions we have put in place is to take a team to the patient’s home.

“To perform the procedure... there are risks involved because the operations need specialised places and equipment... and if an emergency occurs, the patient must be in a specialised place to be treated.”

Sultan said, “We have assigned a building that belongs to us close to the hospital… and it will be a dialysis centre for the elderly. It is a separate building from the hospital and if any emergency happens, the patient will be transferred to the hospital, indicating that the cases of dialysis increase due to the spread of diabetes among young people.”

Sheikh Sultan is being briefed about a project in Sharjah.

Sultan added: "Health is a crown on the heads of healthy people and we must preserve it.

All that the citizen needs, we will do it, and we do not want him to praise us. We want him to be calm."

Sultan also said, “We are now on the eve of the month of Ramadan.”

He added, “We have to turn to reading the Quran.

“It is preferable for a person to complete the Quran at least once a month, indicating that it is this piety that will lift us from a pandemic.” Sheikh Sultan affirmed that "Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Saadi has a book in which there is an easy interpretation of the Book of God... so we have to understand the Holy Quran."

He said, "We are now working to provide jobs... Therefore, we are building institutions and centres to take the care of young people and provide them with jobs."
