VIDEO: Saudi Customs seizes 1.3 million Captagon pills hidden inside fur clothes

The General Authority of Customs in Saudi Arabia announced that it had thwarted an attempt to smuggle more than 1.3 million Captagon pills coming in a "furs" consignment from Turkey.

Saudi Customs in Jeddah Islamic Port detected and confiscated 1,323,000 Captagon pills, which were found hidden inside a consignment received by customs.

The Undersecretary of the General Authority for Security Affairs, Muhammad Al-Naim, explained that a consignment of clothes was received by customs from the port of Iskenderun in Turkey.

In an artistic way, inside the fur cavities Captagon pills were hidden and then re-woven.

He indicated that the smuggling attempt was thwarted with the coordination of General Directorate for Narcotics Control.

They caught two people involved in the incident.

Al-Naim affirmed that Saudi Customs is continuing to tighten control over all imports, exports and travellers, and combating smuggling in all its forms, pointing out that since April 2020, the customs authorities have scuppered several bids to smuggle over 12.5 million pills from the same port.
