Two maids in dock for robbing employer of Dhs30,000 in Dubai

The Dubai Criminal Court has prosecuted two maids for robbing their employer, a GCC national, of Dhs30,000.
The incident took place 5 years ago in 2016, when the victim received a call from his driver informing him that the two maids had ran away from the house after stealing their passports.
The house owner testified that he was on a family vacation when he learnt about the maids running away from his residence.
After getting back from vacation, the employer found out that Dhs30,000 were missing from his wardrobe.
Apparently, the defendants informed the driver that they had stolen the money in order to book a flight back to their home country.
After reporting the incident to police, one of the defendants was arrested while the other managed to flee the country.
