The Social Support Centres in the Community Security Sector in Abu Dhabi Police dealt with 6,825 cases and social cases that included family disputes, delinquency, and adversities, and others after providing psychological and social support and providing advice and awareness to individuals to avoid negative behaviour and establish harmony, during the year 2020.
Brigadier Saeed Hamad Al Kaabi, Director of the Department of Social Support Centres, stated that the centres deal with more than 30 types of various social issues and cases within their competencies related to strengthening community and family security before reaching the executive and judicial authorities through their centres in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, or the Abu Dhabi Police website.
He pointed out that the centres are in charge of responding to telephone consultations by their experienced social workers trained in psychology, sociology and law, as part of Abu Dhabi Police's efforts to enhance the community environment for family stability, which is positively reflected on our security path.

He stated that more than 20,000 people have benefited from the courses, awareness campaigns, workshops and specialized lectures carried out by the centres, especially through social media, which witnessed great interaction from the audience.
The centres play a pioneering role in resolving disputes and issues that do not require legal intervention. Among its tasks are also awareness-raising for community members, participation in conferences, and contributions to raising legal and community awareness.It undertakes work within the framework of three main axes, which are dealing with minor issues, such as violence and family disputes, disputes between neighbors, disputes at school, and conflicts between adolescents. The second axis is responsible for providing psychological and social support to victims of crime, especially for women and children. The third category is crime prevention.
