Lightning strike killed one and injured three persons in Indian city of Gurugram on Friday. The victims were trying to take shelter and protect themselves from the rain when they were struck by lightning.
All four were gardeners at the Signature Villa Vatika City in Sector-82, Gurugram in Haryana. Police said the incident happened around 4:30pm on Friday.
The deceased was identified as 38-year-old Ramprasad, who hailed from Uttar Pradesh.
He succumbed to his injuries late on Friday night.
The other injured gardeners were identified as Shivdutt and Lali, who were also from Uttar Pradesh and Anil Kumar of Sohna block in Gurugram.
At present, they are stable and undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Leak from a gas heater which was reportedly on inside the room while the windows and doors were closed is beleived to be the cause of tragedy. However, there is no official confirmation.
"A recce was conducted by one of the helicopters in the morning and operations are underway in coordination with the district administration and NDRF," Air Force said.
