UAE leaders express pride in Emirati women on International Women's Day

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, congratulated women in the UAE and the world on the occasion of the International Women’s Day.

They affirmed that the Emirati women are a story that we are proud of and that their empowerment is a fundamental priority in the Emirati development vision.

Sheikh Mohammed congratulated Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (Mother of the Nation) on the occasion, stating that the support of ‘Mother of the Nation’ for Emirati women bore fruit and made stories we are proud of.

He also congratulated the UAE people, who have from the beginning involved women in the development process, enabling it to go international.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed extended a greeting of appreciation to women in the UAE and the world on the occasion of International Women's Day, stressing that empowering women is a fundamental priority in the Emirati development vision.

He stressed that women have courageously and sincerely stood on the front lines to confront COVID-19 to confirm that the future of societies is made equally by women and men.

He tweeted: “On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the remarkable abilities & achievements of women around the world. This past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has further demonstrated how women’s strength, courage and leadership are integral to safeguarding the present and future of the UAE.
