Ajman shutters cafe, slaps Dhs60,000 fine on it for violating virus rules again

The Department of Economic Development of Ajman closed a café and fined it Dhs60,000 for re-contravening the closure decision and the precautionary and preventive measures taken to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

According to Major General Sheikh Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, Head of the Emergency, Disaster and Crisis Management Team, the commercial and economic establishments must close after midnight but the fined café worked until 2am, ignoring all the precautionary measures decided during the pandemic, in cooperation with the Department of Economic Development so it was fined and closed.

Major General Al Nuaimi added that the cafe removed the closure sticker approved by the department, and resumed its activity without prior permission, so it was booked with a Dhs10,000 fine for removing the sticker, and Dhs50,000 for non-compliance with the precautionary measures. Besides, it was closed for the second time.
