UAE conducted 26 million COVID-19 tests

The UAE's Ministry of  Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has revealed on Tuesday that the government has conducted 26 million COVID-19 tests so far to curb the spread of the virus in the country.

 

The Ministry made the statement during the weekly media briefing on the latest development on coronavirus in the country.

 

"The UAE continues its wide screening approach and reducing the spread of the pandemic by testing big groups of society, where the total number of tests exceed 26 million," said MoHAP.

  

“An achievement adopting a pilot model in the face of the pandemic & to mitigate its effects on society,” it said.

 

The UAE is at the forefront of the countries that has conducted COVID-19 tests in relation to the total population.

 

Ministry said, “The rate of infection to total tests conducted is one of the lowest regionally and globally, Thanks to the effectiveness of the measures taken, the application of the best and latest medical screening tests, and the high community awareness of adherence to precautionary measures.”

 

Despite the high number of COVID-19 cases in the country, the UAE has the ability to deal with this increase through a flexible and highly agile model in dealing with any developments.

On Tuesday, the Ministry recorded 3,310 new coronavirus cases.

 

Additionally, 3, 791 people have recovered and 7 people passed away in the last 24 hours.

 

Using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment, the ministry has conducted 181, 635 new COVID-19 tests.
