Saudi authorities have foiled an attempt to smuggle 20 million amphetamine tablets into the country.

  

The spokesperson of the General Directorate for Narcotics Control, Captain Muhammad Bin Khaled Al-Najidi, stated that the proactive security follow-up of the activities of criminal networks that smuggle narcotic substances into the Kingdom resulted in foiling an attempt to smuggle about 20,190,500 amphetamine tablets hidden inside a grapes shipment.

 

The culprits were smuggling via Jeddah Port.

 

The spokesperson for the General Directorate of Narcotics Control stated that the elements involved in these operations were arrested inside the Kingdom, and they are 8 accused, including 6 residents and two citizens.

Captain Muhammad Al-Najidi confirmed that the legal measures were taken against them, and referred to the Public Prosecution Office.

 

He urged everyone to call 995 to report people who have been involved in drug activity.
