A video of a Gir forest lioness fighting with a dog has gone viral on social media.
The video showed the scrap between a lioness and a dog in the middle of the forest.

In this rare encounter, the dog is seen fighting with the lioness with a lot of courage, and that’s not all.

In the video, a lioness runs across the dog in the woods, upon which the dog courageously confronts the animal.

When the fight stops for a while, the lioness steps in and appears to move towards the dog, but the dog barks and retaliates.

The lioness had to retreat.

Indian Forest Service officer Parveen Kaswan shared the video on his Twitter account.  

Kaswan said, “Need this much confidence in life. Dog vs Lion. It also highlights issue of stray dogs & wildlife interaction. @zubinashara…

*Lion just used as indicative. It’s a lioness to be precise.”

The video was shot in the Gir forest in India’s Gujarat state.

Millions of tourists from all over the world come to the wildlife reserve to catch a glimpse of the lions. The Gir Forest National Park was established to protect Asiatic lions.

The tourists are given a tour of the forest by the Forest Department.

During the outing, the video was captured.

The video was recorded by Ahmedabad-based wildlife photographer and politician Zubin Ashara.

Zubin told local media the video was recorded about a week ago.
He recorded this amazing sight during a safari at Gir Sanctuary.
