The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) never fails to surprise customers with its mega raffle draws and amazing prizes. In its 26 edition this year, despite the COVId-19 pandemic, it is once again living up to its reputation of delivering happiness to all through its amazing prizes.
Dubai Shopping Festival, as has been its tradition, is once again rewarding lucky residents and visitors who enter the wide range of raffles and giveaways.
Organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), DSF, which ends on Jan.30, 2021, is hosting the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group (DGJG) grand raffle with winners each receiving 250g of gold out of a total prize giveaway of 25kg.
Among the delighted shoppers who have so far scooped 250g of gold are Emirati Yusuf Ali Al Maadi, Indians Christina AS, Irfan Khan and Ben Samuel and Imelda P Duron from The Philippines.
Ben Samuel said: “My father always taught me to give more than you get, and to be optimistic. I was driving to work early in the morning when I got the call that I won. It was such a happy end to the year that I couldn’t believe my luck."
"I have spent almost half the money giving back to friends and family who lost their jobs because of the Covid-19 crisis, and I bought so many things for people in need,” he says.
On finding out he had won his golden prize, Yusuf Ali Al Maadi said: “At first I thought this was a prank. It only started sinking in after we went and received the prize. I never imagined that when I dropped that coupon, I’d win! I have exchanged the gold for money and started a savings account.”
A delighted Christina A S said: “Hands down, this was the best news of 2020. It was such a relief to win this amazing prize at the end of an unpredictable year. I entered the raffle with my family and am so happy I was the one to win!”
Irfan Khan said: “This is the first time in my life I have ever won something. Dubai is a very generous city that has always been hosting raffles and competitions, and after being here for three years I was in shock when I won and overwhelmed with gratitude.”
Imelda P Duron said: “I live here alone, and the second I knew I had won I wanted to share it with all my family in the Philippines. It’s such a great gift from the Dubai Shopping Festival to end the year on a positive note. Times have been very challenging for everyone and this made me feel that 2021 is my year!”
Seven other lucky shoppers won gold sets, diamond rings and gemstones.
In recognition of his honesty, Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA honoured Maqbool.
The court also decided to punish each of the four defendants (PPL, GPL, KCRS, GBA) with a five-year imprisonment term and a fine of Dhs10m and deportation.
Millions of people were forced to make alternative travel plans or work from home as the majority of train companies on the country’s fragmented network said they were running no services.
At the beginning of the meeting, which took place at Qasr Al Shati, Sheikh Mohamed welcomed President Lukashenko, who is on a work visit to the UAE, and wished further growth and prosperity for Belarus and its people.
The video showed a Mercedes driver throwing banknotes at the female gas station attendant who just finished filling fuel into the vehicle at the station in Leshan, Sichuan Province.
