The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police, continues to support community segments that were most impacted by the pandemic, by distributing 150,000 face masks and more than 16,000 jackets to workers at industrial sites.

Abu Dhabi Government Media Office shared a video of Foundation staff and police personnel distributing the woollens and necessary items to workers in industrial areas of the emirate.

Abu Dhabi has also launched a campaign to offer mental health support to workers. The Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi urged workers to dial 800937292 for support if they feel anxious, stressed or have any feelings or thoughts of self-harm.

The foundation has a clear vision and mission.

-Take the initiative in serving humanity through significant assistance to those in need.

-Encourage tolerance among people to serve the needy in different parts of the globe.

-Extend bridges of cooperation with domestic and world organisations involved in humanitarian work.

-Provide financial support to various care giving programmes.

-Morally support owners of distinguished initiatives and encourage people keen on charity work to take initiatives and proceed further.

The foundation continues to provide humanitarian aid through the COVID-19 initiatives launched by CSR UAE Fund in partnership with the Foundation. The campaign received monetary and in-kind contributions that included thousands of items that were distributed to beneficiaries.

The items included smart devices to support distance learning, urgent medical equipment to hospitals and patients and food hampers, said the foundation. The fund also supported small creative institutions affected by the pandemic. The number of beneficiaries in 2020 reached more than 395,000 across the country, including 56,529 underprivileged families (with 4 to 12 members per family) in addition to over 167,000 individuals, including frontline employees and people testing positive for the COVID-19 and others.

These initiatives fulfil the national priority requirements in order to mitigate COVID-19 pandemic challenges in the medical, health and educational sectors.
