A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck Elazig province in Turkey on Sunday.

The quake happened at 09:37 a.m, it spread to neighbouring provinces, reported Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate.

According to a tweet by Turkey's Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu, reports of casualties and damages are yet to be recorded.

Turkey often experiences earthquake. Its worst quake was in 1999, it killed 18,000 people.
