In a heart stopping incident, a teenager saved his young sister from being hit by a pickup truck in Brazil.
The incident took place in Rondonopolis. The boy ran across the road, risking his life, to save her sister from being hit by the vehicle. The boy has been hailed as a hero among the locals for his brave act.
The video footage showed the young girl coming out of a supermarket running across to the other side of the road. Her brother comes out. An older woman is also seen in the frame. The young girl tries to cross the road to her brother but a sedan passes by.
The girl makes a second attempt thinking the road is clear, but in a split second a pickup comes into the frame prompting the brother to sprint across the road whisk her to safety. The truck stops at a metre apart from the scene.
A store camera recorded whole incident. The owner of the store said what the guy did was heroic.
He gave her a second live. Luckily no one was injured. The authorities have urged residents to remain extra cautious around children and not to let them loiter around alone.
Social media users have praised the teenager for his quick thinking.
