Britain sets to roll-out COVID-19 vaccine this week

Britain is getting ready to be the first country with the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, shots will be made available at hospitals the government said on Sunday.

The country will be administering the first doses on Tuesday.

According to the National Health Service (NHS) those over-80, frontline healthcare workers and care home staff and residents will be prioritized.

Britain has ordered 40 million doses, following the emergency approval it gave for the usage of the vaccine.

The vaccine requires arduous storage, it lasts for five days in a regular fridge at -70C (-94F).

NHS has called on practitioners to start preparing to vaccinate people from Dec.14.

More than 1,000 vaccination centres will be provided across the country.

With high levels of vaccine scepticism worrying public health experts, the Times and Mail on Sunday newspapers reported that Queen Elizabeth, 94, and her husband Prince Philip, 99, would "let it be known" when they had received the jab.
