The Abu Dhabi Crisis, Emergency and Disasters Committee announced the amendment in the procedures for entering the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Move aims at reinforcing the precautionary measures for early detection of COVID-19 infections.

The committee clarified that the new amendments, which will be implemented as of coming Sunday (Nov. 8), include a nasal swab, a Covid test, a PCR or a DPI laser test, in order to enter the emirate within 48 hours of receiving the negative test result.

The committee added that performing a nasal swab PCR is mandatory on the fourth day of entry only when staying in the emirate for 4 consecutive days or more.

A nasal swab test will be conducted also on the eighth day of entry only when staying in the emirate for 8 consecutive days or more, in addition to the fourth day test.

“These procedures will be applied on all residents of the UAE, including residents of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.”

The committee also stressed that not conducting the tests exposes violators to fines and legal accountability.

The committee clarified that volunteers of the trials of the COVID-19 vaccine are exempted from these procedures, and that they are allowed to use lanes of emergency vehicles to ensure easy mobility.
