Bahrain approves emergency COVID-19 vaccine for frontline workers

Bahrain approves emergency use of COVID-19 vaccine candidate on frontline workers from Tuesday, BNA, the state news agency reported based on an announcement by the health minister.

In September, the UAE permitted the emergency use of the same vaccine candidate for health workers that are exposed to infection.

The vaccine candidate is approaching the end of phase III trials in Egypt, Bahrain and Jordan. It is a partnership between Sinopharm's China National Biotec Group (CNBG) and Abu Dhabi-based artificial intelligence and cloud computing company Group 42 (G42).
