UAE reports 1,078 new COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) on Saturday reported 1,078 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 857 recoveries. Two deaths were also reported.

The new cases were identified after conducting additional 98,168 tests, the ministry said.

The UAE has conducted over 9.2 million tests till date as part of the country's massive screening programmes to combat the spread of Covid-19.

The new cases sum up the total of cases detected in the country to 90,618, so far.

Additionally, 857 people infected with the novel virus have recovered.

The number of recovered cases recorded in the country so far tallies to 79, 676.

Two people have passed away in the last 24 hours, making it 411 deaths recorded.

The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished COVID-19 patients a speedy and full recovery, calling on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.
