However, 389 infected people have recovered from the novel virus, summing up the number of recovered cases in the country to 59,861.
One patient passed away, making it 379 people sadly lost to the virus.
In addition to the new cases, 2,200 people recovered and 10 people passed away.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention, MoHAP, said it carried out over 106,034 additional COVID-19 tests in the country over the last 24 hours, using the latest testing methods.
