A tragic accident has taken place on Thursday afternoon at Al Dhaid road, after a truck turned over and crashed into two other vehicles.
The accident resulted in the death of a man and the injury of two others.
Police received a call reporting the accident at 1:20pm, and multiple patrols were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Details of the accident revealed that one of truck tires had exploded, the driver lost control over the vehicle, which suddenly drifted to the other side of the road.
Unfortunately, the truck crashed into two pickup vehicles, causing the instant death of one of the drivers.
Other passengers sustained minor injuries and were immediately transferred to the nearest hospital to receive medical treatment.
Lastly, Sharjah Police urged all drivers to do constant checkups on their vehicles’ tires, and stay alert while driving in order to prevent such tragic accidents from taking place, or putting their lives and others in danger.
Identity of the suspects were not known, but nevertheless, police investigations pointed out that the two suspects were buying electronic cigarettes devices, worth Dhs1000 each. They asked the victim to deliver the devices to their car and then attempted to flee the scene without paying the amount.
According to Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic Police, the Command and Control room at the General Department of Operations, received a report on a major traffic accident involving three buses at 6:30 AM on Al Khail Road (E44).
