Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with the Follow-up and Control Centre in the emirate, broadcast real video footage of traffic accidents that reveal the danger of sudden deviation of vehicles, which resulted in many traffic accidents that cause loss of life and property on the roads.
The police called on drivers to avoid the reasons that lead to their lack of control over their vehicles and their deviation from their lane, stressing the need to pay attention and focus on and monitor the road, not to be distracted by the phone while driving, use signals when changing lanes and use wing mirrors to make sure that there is space that allows movement to the other lane.
The authorities have stressed that the application of Article No. 29 of the sudden deviation of the vehicle, involving a fine of Dhs1000, and 4 black points.
The Abu Dhabi Police, ADP, have warned drivers about the risks of using mobile phones to surf the internet and social media sites while driving, as well as other behaviour that could cause accidents.
The Police urged drivers to focus on driving to avoid accidents, not cause traffic congestion, and refrain from crossing red lights, stressing its keenness to promote traffic awareness through its social media platforms, in partnership with media outlets.
Abu Dhabi Police have launched an initiative to replace minor traffic fines with warning SMSs to drivers, on the occasion of the International Day of Happiness, which falls annually on March 20.
The driver was driving recklessly without leaving enough space from other vehicles, besides overtaking vehicles in direction and not abiding by the traffic signs placed for motorists.
According to Article (32) of UAE traffic rules, motorists will get a fine of Dhs 800 and 4 black points for using phones while being on roads, which could lead to the driver’s distraction and cause traffic accidents.
The Dubai Municipality confirmed that it would not disregard fining and punishing any establishment that does not adhere to the procedures and measures in force in the emirate. Any violation that is detected inside any establishment will lead to its closure, particularly salons and beauty centres, in order to achieve the desired goals of the measures in force to protect the community from the corona pandemic.
