His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, inspected the damage caused by the fire that broke out on Wednesday in a popular fruits and vegetables market.

Sheikh Humaid was briefed on the efforts made by the civil defense teams in order to control the fire.

A video showed Sheikh Humaid inspecting the site from his car.

The huge fire broke out at a fruits and vegetables market in Ajman on Wednesday evening.

Around 25 police units, ambulances and Ajman Civil Defence teams were on the site to put out the massive fire at the market in the new industrial area.

Thick black smoke billowing from the site could be seen from distant areas of the emirates.

Civil Defence teams received a call reporting a fire in the market and immediately rushed to the scene, reaching within a record time of 3 minutes.

Several shops in the Iranian Souq were affected by the blaze, and parts of the building were totally gutted.

Police officials stated that the building was evacuated and the fire was successfully put out without any human casualties.

It was also noted that the building was officially shut down for 4 months due to the coronavirus crisis.

Thankfully, buildings nearby were not affected by the fire, and police are now investigating the reasons behind its occurrence.
