Sharjah Police are investigating the death of an Asian girl, 15, after falling from a residential tower in the emirate on Friday.
According to a report received by the operations room of Sharjah Police, a 15-year-old Asian girl fell from a residential tower in Al Taawun area on Friday.
Police patrols, criminal investigation teams and national ambulance rushed to the scene of the incident where the girl was found dead.
Preliminary investigations showed that the girl, who was living with her family in the emirate, was a student in a UAE school and fell from the 8th floor while she was in the balcony of her apartment.
The body was referred to the forensic lab and the file of the case to Al Buhairah Comprehensive Police Station for further investigations.
Al-Turaifi said that the municipality had organized more than 1,915 inspection campaigns on violating accommodations.
The deceased tried to photograph herself standing on a chair which she put on the edge of the balcony barrier of the apartment on the 17th floor.
Preliminary investigation indicated that the victim lived and worked in Dubai, and came to Sharjah on the day of the incident.
