The individuals who fail to wear medical mask, fabric or veil mask when walking around, existing in crowded public places and the closed places have been slapped with immediate fine of Dhs3,000, the Abu Dhabi Police confirmed on Sunday.

No exceptions were accepted, such as smoking cigarettes, or failing to wear masks properly, as it must cover both the mouth and the nose, the police added.

The Abu Dhabi Police also stated that the Law is applied strictly to any who fails to abide by the precautionary measures, particularly social distancing and wearing of medical mask.

It was also noted that the police were issuing warning notices to violators during the past period, but now everyone is aware of the regulations and no excuses are no longer accepted.
