This comes as part of the precautionary and preventive measures adopted by the UAE Government to fight COVID-19 and to strengthen the efficiency and efficacy of the UAE’s health system in line with the directives of the wise leadership in terms of harnessing all the potential to maintain the health of the people.

In this context, the Sharjah Medical District has announced the rollout of the second stage of the COVID-19 screening programme dedicated to Sharjah Government employees who are expected to go back to work. The programme includes three-day tests for 1,700 employees from Sharjah Municipality, and 500 vendors from Souq Al Jubail.

Four primary health care centres have been selected to receive COVID-19 emergency cases.

The first stage of the programme, which is being implemented in cooperation with the Sharjah government and the Sharjah Committee for Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management, included home testing for 28 senior citizens and 19 of their sitters to ensure their safety, and provide the best levels of health care to protect the health of the people, enhance the safety of individuals and contain the pandemic.

Advanced screening centres: Mohammed Abdullah Al-Zarouni, Director of Sharjah Medical District, pointed to the stringent measures taken by MoHAP to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic by intensifying the screening campaign across Sharjah to detect the COVID-19 cases in the early stages and to identify their contacts, highlighting state-of-the-art technology devices used in the screening centre. This reflects the robustness of the country’s health system, thanks to the unlimited support of the wise leadership and its keenness to provide the highest levels of healthcare services for both citizens and residents and visitors as well.

He added: “As per MoHAP’s directives, Sharjah Medical District has formed a medical team dedicated to the epidemiological investigation of infected cases and their contacts and the conduct of a survey to classify cases and coordinate isolation or quarantine for them. In addition, Kuwait Hospital and Khorfakkan Hospital have been allocated for Covid-19 patients, in addition to the coordination with the private hospitals in the emirate to follow up on cases and ensure the stability of their health status.”

Four primary health care centres (Wasit, Dhaid, Al Lulueyah, and Family Health Promotion Centre) have been selected to receive COVID-19 emergency cases around the clock.
