A shocking video of a thug monkey is doing the rounds on social media after it was involved in a broad daylight kidnapping attempt of a toddler in Indonesia.

The video showed a monkey riding a mini bike speed past passersby to get its hands onto a toddler.

The monkey then got rid of the bike, and dragged the toddler for some distance. 

The video was shared by retired American basketball player Rex Everett Chapman on Twitter. Rex said, “Can’t remember the last time I saw a monkey ride-up on a motorcycle and try to steal a toddler. It’s been ages...”

Many social media users are trying to figure out what’s happening.

A YouTuber Joey Saladino said, “Looks like the monkey was on a leash and was attacking the kid.

“The owner was then pulling the leash which led to the kid being dragged with the monkey.

“Still wild”

The monkey appears to be strung by the neck. The owner can be seen pulling back the cord as the monkey clings to the toddler.

Animal rights activists have voiced their concern and condemned the use of such tricks and cords on animals.

The video has over 4 million views on Twitter.
